YINKA SHONIBARE CBE: SUSPENDED STATES

The Serpentine Gallery presented a solo exhibition of recent works by British-Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare, coinciding with the artist's presentation at the 60th International Art Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia.

The works on display explore central themes of colonial legacies, as well as sites of refuge and shelter. One of the final rooms highlights the Guest Projects program, which has been operating in his East London studio since 2008, and his Guest Artist Space Foundation in Nigeria. This is conveyed through large graphics illustrated with photographs and a wall featuring the names of participating artists. We were honored to design these graphics, showcasing the dynamic life of these projects.
