WORK    ABOUT    EN/ES

Guests at Design Miami / Basel 2021 were greeted by a collaborative installation by Japanese architect Sou Fujimotoand Dutch artist studio DRIFT. The collaboration was composed of a choreography of silk light pendants by DRIFT called Shy Synchrony, and an elliptical wooden pavilion to observe these from, designed by Sou Fujimoto and called Forest of Space.

Sou Fujimoto’s wooden pavilion recreates the idea of a forest, its infinite vertical lines creating a playful relationship with the space. The installation hosted a series of talks and events dealing with art, architecture and wellness.

Our role was to take the architect’s sketches for the pavilion and ensure its proportions were in harmony with DRIFT´s artwork and the overall space. We also worked on a technical design for the pavilion’s construction, made sure it was ergonomic for visitors’ comfort and proposed a lighting scheme for it.
